Architectural & Structural Metal Fabrication.
Introduction:
Within the J & J. Carter Limited organisation, we have our own in-house facility for metal fabrication. The metal-shop handles aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel. Staff have over 60 man years of experience in the careful fabrication, and attention to detail required by our clients. The workshop is 7,000 square feet and is more than capable of handling most size projects, from very light weight products to heavy gauge structural fabrications.

In House Facilities:
The metal-shop has cutting (band and circular saws), welding (mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel), fabrication (drilling, turning, punching) and rolling equipment.
Handling - Diesel Fork Lift with capacity of 2 Tonnes
Sawing - Various cold saws and band saws with cutting capacity from small sections upto a maximum of 300 x 200mm.
Drilling - Various drilling machines with a maximum capacity of 40mm dia.
Fitting - Universal steelworker for cropping and punching flat and angle sections.
Bending - Himor tube bender with capacity of 60mm CHS
Welding - Mostly MIG process with capacity of 250, 350 and 400 amp machines.
Finishing - In house electrostatic painting, specialised finishes such as anodising, hot dip galvanising and two pack treatments would be handled by specialist contractors.
Finishing:
We do not profess to be experts in painting or surface treatment application, and therefore out source to third parties. Any steel requiring galvanising will be hot dipped and undertake by a specialist company. All steel painting is done locally. We only specifiy International Paints on all painted jobs. They advise and provide a specification, inspection and warranty for their paints. Their website is http://www.international-pc.com
Qualifications:
All staff are coded welders and fully qualified in all aspects of metal fabrications. All staff have over 15 years of metal fabrication, and 10 years in aluminium portal frame fabrication.
